Almost every small business deciding about a website is really deciding between a platform they build on themselves and paying someone to do it once. These pages lay that out plainly for the two platforms I get asked about most.
I build the custom sites, so I am not a neutral party — but both platforms below are good software, and each page says plainly when the platform is the better choice for you. A comparison that only ever reaches one conclusion is an advert.
